This week we received another guest lecture by professor
Donal Fitzpatrick. Donal is a well-known university lecturer who has worked overseas in Australia. Professor Fitzpatrick began the lecture by discussing
creativity and what it means. I personally see creativity as the use of
imagination or original ideas to create something. We looked into the rankings
of creativity in each country throughout 2016. These figures are known as the
Global Creativity Index. From the figures we discovered that Sweden, Japan and
Finland were situated in the top three for creativity.
These results made us reflect on how design is thought about. Design is a combination of global demand and innovation. Professor Fitzpatrick later began to break down creative values referring to the 6 senses of conceptual age which are: Design, Story, Collaboration, Empathy, Play, Meaning. I will reflect on these 6 senses throughout my group project in order to ensure the maximum amount of creativity is being applied.
