In brief two it was time to reflect on who I believed I was
as a Graphic Designer. For this task, I had to present work that I felt best
reflected my capabilities. I’m a Junior Designer located within Greater
Manchester. I specialise in branding, layout and typography. I’m a recent
Graphic Design BA (Hons) graduate from the University of Huddersfield, who is
eager to gain valuable experience within the industry of the Graphic Design
world. I believe myself to be a multidisciplinary designer with a desire to
create innovative pieces of work. I enjoy design work that requires a high
attention to detail, as I find myself driven towards creating the best work
possible when set any form of task. I’m a fully capable designer who is highly
experienced in many CAD applications/techniques.
In the presentation,
I attempted to show my work within branding, typography and layout. These
included client and university briefs which I have taken part in. My
presentation slides can be viewed below.
It was very
easy to create this presentation as I had already collected the work from my
portfolio, that I had updated prior to this brief. For the presentation, I felt
the way I structured my work was very effective as it allowed me to introduce
each brief. This then showed the difference between the projects I had selected
in terms of branding, layout and typography. As I progress through this year I
will be updating my portfolio frequently. I need to launch my website which
will provide me with an online presence. This form of work will aid me when seeking a job.
One
thing you will begin to notice a lot in my work is my personal branding. I
created this whilst I was working on my portfolio in summer 2017. It is a
monogram connecting two ‘H’ symbols together which is intended to reflect the ‘H’
used in Harrison Holmes. These symbols have been connected through the use on
line art so that it looks like a set of people are shaking hands.
