Supreme is a skateboarding shop and clothing brand established in New York City in April 1994. The brand caters to the skateboarding, hip hop and rock cultures, as well as to the youth
culture in general. The brand produces clothes and accessories, and also
manufactures skateboards. Its shoes, clothing, and accessories are sold
extensively in the secondary market. The distinctive red box logo with
"Supreme" in white Futura Heavy Oblique is largely based on Barbara Kruger's propaganda art.

Supremes’ most
notorious item is the Box Logo range. This is simply a garment with their logo
printed onto it. The notion of this further demonstrates how a streetwear bran
can have an effect on a younger generation. When I create my logo for my brand
it needs to be simple yet have a background to it. Supreme has largely become the
hype over the years and this is due to the brands connection with youth culture.
I feel this is something I must try to achieve within my Major Project. The key
thing that allows the clothing brand to thrive is its exclusivity.
